1. About Dentist Search

Dentist Search is an independent dental directory service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by NHS England, NHS Wales, NHS Scotland, or any other NHS body. We are a private company providing a search and alert service to help members of the public locate NHS dental practices.

2. Data accuracy and disclaimer

Practice data on Dentist Search is sourced from publicly available NHS APIs and datasets. While we update our records daily, we cannot guarantee that the information displayed is accurate, complete, or current at the time you view it.

In particular, the following information may be incorrect or out of date:

• Whether a practice is currently accepting new NHS patients
• Practice addresses, phone numbers, and websites
• CQC ratings and inspection dates
• Whether a practice offers NHS treatment at all (some practices may have changed from NHS to private)
• Opening hours and appointment availability
• Treatments offered

You should always contact the practice directly to confirm their current accepting status before travelling. We make no warranty that a practice shown as "accepting" will have availability when you call, or that a practice shown as "not accepting" has not since opened its books.

NHS practice data is provided under the Open Government Licence. Dentist Search does not create or modify this data — we retrieve, store, and display it as received from NHS sources. Errors in the underlying NHS data will be reflected on our platform.

3. Alerts and notifications

Our alert service notifies you when our automated systems detect a change in a practice's accepting status based on NHS data. An alert does not guarantee that:

• The practice is accepting patients at the time you receive the alert
• You will be successfully registered as a new patient
• NHS treatment will be available to you at that practice
• The alert was triggered by a genuine change rather than a data correction

Alerts are sent on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee delivery of email or SMS alerts. Technical failures, spam filters, and carrier issues are outside our control.

4. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dentist Search, its directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:

• Any loss or damage arising from reliance on inaccurate practice data
• The inability to secure an NHS dental appointment
• Costs incurred travelling to a practice that is not accepting patients
• Missed alerts due to technical or delivery failures
• Any indirect, consequential, or special loss arising from use of our service

Our total liability to you in connection with the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

5. Not medical advice

Dentist Search is not a healthcare provider. Nothing on this website constitutes medical or dental advice. The AI Dental Advice feature (available to paying subscribers) provides general information only and is explicitly not a substitute for professional dental consultation.

If you are experiencing dental pain, facial swelling, difficulty swallowing, or any dental emergency, contact NHS 111 or attend your nearest accident and emergency department immediately. Do not rely on Dentist Search for emergency care.

6. Subscriptions and payments

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Refunds are not provided for partial periods, except where required by UK consumer law.

One-off payments (such as the 30-day alert product) are non-refundable once the service has commenced.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified by email.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, copy, or systematically extract practice data from Dentist Search for commercial purposes
• Use the service to send unsolicited communications to practices
• Attempt to circumvent authentication or access controls
• Use automated tools to access the service in ways that place unreasonable load on our systems

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of Dentist Search after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will notify subscribers of material changes by email.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
